share.handel
Share files and passwords securely with clients, partners and suppliers, with no account needed on the recipient's side. Standalone or connected to OpenText Content Server, each client in its own cloud environment.

Sharing without detours
share.handel is a standalone service for exchanging files and passwords. One space per project or partner, rights per person, large files without worrying about size. Recipients need no account: they sign in with a code sent by SMS or e-mail.
- Spaces with rights per person: read, upload, change, delete
- Sign-in by password or by PIN via SMS and e-mail, no account creation
- Files up to 50 GB, folders as ZIP, versions and recycle bin
- Share passwords and credentials instead of sending them by e-mail
- Web, REST API and desktop app for Windows, Linux and macOS
What share.handel does
Six building blocks, all included as standard.
Spaces & rights
A separate space for every project. The admin decides per person who may read, upload, change or delete. Retention period and permitted file types apply per space.
Sign-in without an account
Recipients sign in with a one-time code by SMS or e-mail. No registration, no password to remember, no unwanted account. Regular users continue to sign in with a password.
Large files
Up to 50 GB per file. Uploads and downloads go straight to storage, never through the server. Whole folders arrive as ZIP, every file keeps its versions, deleted items stay in the recycle bin for 30 days.
Share passwords
Credentials do not belong in e-mails. share.handel hands them to the recipient protected and traceable in the audit trail, without leaving them sitting in a mailbox.
Checkout: soft and hard
Whoever works on a file marks it: a soft lock as a notice to everyone, a hard lock as a block. Nobody accidentally overwrites a drawing someone else spent hours on.
Desktop app
A local folder that stays in sync with the space, for Windows, Linux and macOS. The app is connected by device approval, without a password, and can be signed off with one click.
Connected to OpenText Content Server
Optional. If you run Extended ECM, you send straight from Content Server.
Content Server remains the document system, share.handel becomes its outpost: documents go to external recipients by workflow or by click, returns land in Content Server as a new version. Content Server never talks to the outside. An agent pulls in both directions, no inbound connections are needed.
- Transmittals from the workflow or manually from the browser
- Returns taken back as a new version, status visible in Content Server
- Reservations and checkouts mirrored in both directions
- The agent runs on the client's premises or in our cloud

Transmittals
Send documents to external recipients, set a deadline, remind, close. The space is cleared automatically afterwards.
Folder sync
A folder in Content Server stays permanently in sync with a space, in both directions, including reservations.
Chat & CAD
A chat tile inside Content Server for coordinating with external parties. For engineering offices, share.handel reads CAD attributes and references from DWG, DXF and DGN.
Operations & security
Every client gets their own environment. We run it.
One environment per client
No shared database, no shared storage: every client runs in a stack of their own on AWS.
- Own container, own database, own storage
- Frankfurt or Zurich, depending on data residency requirements
- Own domain with certificate, for example share.yourcompany.ch
- Daily backup, individual files can be restored
Security built in
The hardening from years of running file sharing is standard, not optional.
- Argon2 passwords, lockout after failed attempts, PIN over two channels
- Complete log of every action, kept for 365 days
- Admin area reachable only from approved networks
- Container image without known vulnerabilities, rebuilt regularly
